Why we don’t have a fixed list.
A pub can pour a beautiful pint one day and feel different the next. A quiet corner can fill up; the rhythm behind the bar can change. Authenticity can’t be scheduled. Our guides make the decisions on the ground, so every stop earns its place on your tour.
Freshness: the throughput rule.
We pay attention to how much Guinness is moving through a pub. Steady turnover is one of the things our guides look for when choosing a fresh, well-kept pint. Reputation matters less than what is being served today.
The draught system matters.
What happens between the keg and the tap is part of the picture. Our guides consider the draught setup and how the beer is looked after, including the short-draw systems valued in Dublin’s pub culture. The pint in front of you is what counts.
Craft behind the bar.
We look for care at every stage: clean glassware, a considered two-part pour, time to settle and a smooth, creamy head. A Guinness deserves attention, even when the pub is busy.
Atmosphere: read the room.
Some groups want a quiet corner and a good conversation. Others enjoy the energy of a lively local. Your guide reads the room and the group, adapting to crowds, noise and the mood of the day.
A guide’s judgement, in real time.
You are joining a local expert who brings together pint quality, pub culture and Dublin’s stories. On the public tour, three full pints are included across three carefully selected stops. Come with questions, compare what you taste and leave the route to us.
